You may notice that photos in my online galleries have a watermark across them. There’s a simple reason for that: the watermark helps protect the photographs while they’re being previewed online.
I work hard to attend as many games and events as possible, photograph the action, edit thousands of images, and make those photos available to athletes and their families. I also intentionally keep my digital download prices as affordable as possible, because I want as many families as possible to be able to enjoy and share their athlete’s photos.
The images you see in the online galleries are low-resolution previews with a watermark. They are provided so you can look through the gallery, find your favorite moments, and decide which photos you'd like to purchase.
Taking a screenshot of a preview and attempting to remove or crop out the watermark is not a substitute for purchasing the photograph. The watermark is there to protect the work that goes into creating and providing these images.
In simple terms, when a watermark is intentionally removed from a photo without purchasing it, you're taking a photograph that is being sold and using it without paying for it. That's theft of the photographer's work.
When you purchase a digital download, you receive the high-resolution, full-quality version of the photograph with the watermark completely removed.
That means you'll have a clean image that you can download, save, print, and share with family and friends.
Preview: Low-resolution + watermark
Purchased download: High-resolution + no watermark
I don't want the cost of photography to keep athletes and families from having access to these memories. That's why I work to keep individual digital downloads at an affordable price.
When you purchase a photo instead of screenshotting a preview, you're not just getting a better-quality image—you're supporting a local photographer and helping make it possible for me to continue showing up at games and events to capture these memories.
I truly appreciate everyone who purchases photos and supports my work. Every download, print, and order helps me continue doing what I love and giving back to the schools and communities I photograph.
